凉山彝族人民大多生活在崇山峻岭的原生态自然环境中。其住房破旧狭小,环境荒凉简陋,生存环境和住房条件一直以来都较差。凉山彝族新农村建设遵循政府的规划和民众的意愿,新居建设与“三房”改造并举,整治环境与装修民居兼顾,并从艺术的层面去美化彝民的居住环境,装饰彝民的住房院落,着力改变彝乡民居的陈旧面貌,提升彝族人民的生活品质。今日的凉山,面貌焕然一新,处处呈现出有中国特色社会主义的新气象。
