CA agreed to acquire PLATINUM for more than $ 3.5 billion in cash transactions, making it the largest transaction in software industry history. Beginning last year’s attempt to buy COMPUTER SCIENCES CORP failed to succeed, CA’s bold move showed the latest in a move by this New York-based company called ISLANDIA to buy a large service company. PLATINUM offers software products and consulting services to help more than 10,000 companies worldwide manage and improve their IT infrastructure systems and data management, e-commerce, application foundation management, data warehousing, knowledge management, decision support and year 2000 issues solve. CA said the 12-year-old company has more than 120 offices worldwide. CA will invest 45 US dollars by the CREDIT SUISSE FIRST BODTON signed the purchase
