In addition to bipolar transistors, field-effect transistors are important active devices that have been used in integrated circuits. This chapter discusses the physical theory of junction and metal-insulator-semiconductor (MIS) field-effect transistors, electrical characteristics, equivalent circuits, linear and switching circuit applications, and large scale integration. INTRODUCTION 1. The concept of voltage-controlled resistance signal amplification is related to the modulation of resistance. The field effect principle can be simply explained as a voltage-controlled resistor, meaning that some of the resistance’s characteristics are voltage-dependent.
