1993年,国家教委下发了《关于各类成人高等学校评估工作的意见》及《成人高等学校评估的基本内容和准则》,提出:综合评估“一般每四至五年进行一次”。根据要求,各类成人高等学校的第一轮评估工作基本结束,国家教委也正在准备于1997年评选出一批示范性成人高等学校。应该说,成人高等学校的主要任务是培养人才,因此,教学工作是评估的核心。在评估工作中,各成人高等学校围绕如何提高教育质量,加强教学管理,做了大量的工作,大大促进了教学水平的提高。几年来,围绕教学工作的实际,各学校从端正教学指导思想的高度出发,逐步统一认识,在教学任务不断增加,学校规模不断扩大的前提下,为培养更多的、适应社会需要的合格人才作出了不懈的努力。主要表现在以下方面:
