State-owned enterprises, especially large and medium-sized state-owned enterprises, have played an important role in the development of China’s economy. Since the reform and opening up, some problems that have long puzzled state-owned enterprises have gradually eased, and conditions for equal competition among enterprises have gradually emerged, creating conditions for invigorating state-owned enterprises. In fact, a number of state-owned enterprises with strong vigor and good performance have appeared in various industries. The assets of the 500 largest industrial enterprises in the country accounted for 37% of the total assets of state-owned industrial enterprises, sales revenue accounted for 46%, and profits accounted for 63%.
