朱红桔(九月黄、三湖红桔)在我县栽培已有一百多年历史。主要分布在与新干、清江两县接壤的泗溪公社卫东大队和姚圩公社的彭家大队,实为三湖桔区的延伸。由于长期实生繁殖,多实生变异。1973年我们在群众性柑桔选种的基础上,于泗溪公社卫东大队第五生产队,小地名叫庵高的园内发现一株少核朱红桔(暂名新卫五号)。经多年观察和高接遗传性鉴定,其少核性状稳定,1977年取样送省果树所分析和宜春地区柑桔资源调查组口评鉴定:
