科学与和平这一主题从第二次世界大战以来被推到越来越高的位置。因为它关系到人类的未来、关系到21世纪人类生活的质量。为此,联合国于1988年提议每年的11月11日所在的周为“科学与和平周”,今年的科学与和平周是1989年11月6日到11月11日。为了响应联合国的倡仪,1989年11月10日,中国未来学研究会、北京大学科学与社会研究中心、科技日报副刊部联合发起在友谊宾馆科学会堂召开了“21世纪科学与和平”座谈会。
The theme of science and peace has been pushed ever higher since the Second World War. Because it relates to the future of mankind, it relates to the quality of human life in the 21st century. To this end, the United Nations proposed the weekly Week of Science and Peace, which was held on 11 November in 1988, and this year's Science and Peace Week is from November 6 to November 11, 1989. In response to the UN initiative, on Nov. 10, 1989, China Future Science Research Association, Science and Social Research Center of Peking University and Science and Technology Daily Supplement jointly sponsored a forum on “Science and Peace in the 21st Century” at the Friendship Hotel Science Hall .
