3Dfx, which is known for its dry video game industry for its Voodoo 3D product, recently unveiled a new chip, Voodoo Banshee, to enter the mainstream PC market. It integrates 2D and 3D graphics capabilities in one chip. To date, 3Dfx products have been installed as an add-on product in the system, and the 3Dfx Voodoo family has taken over the majority of the 3D graphics market. 3Dfx said PCs equipped with the Voodoo Banshee chip will be able to run more than 250 games designed for their Voodoo2 and Voodoo products. Banshee is about 15% to 17% faster than the fastest 2D and 3D graphics chips available today. But analysts think the 3Dfx move will make it one
