“丑角”不仅是戏曲表演艺术中带有浓重色彩及富有深厚历史积淀的人物形象,也是民间舞蹈表演中夺取人民眼球的一个重要角色。它通过脸谱、服饰、动作、语言等手段,给观众带来欢笑,不仅能缓解人们的疲劳、起到娱乐的功能;还可以鄙夷、讽刺那些阴险毒辣的昏君奸臣等坏人,赋予了教育的功能;调节演员驾驭舞台的紧张感,起到调剂剧情情节冲突、插科打诨的功能。在赣南采茶和胶州秧歌舞蹈剧目中发挥着不可替代的作用,真可谓是中华民族传统文化百花园里一朵带刺的“丑花”。
