美国《英格索尔》铣床公司生产了一种和传统实践相反的自动线,能够有效而又方便地处理一些需作复杂加工的大型工件。 它的第一个应用场合是加工一种拖拉机用的大型传动箱。自动线运行时,工件固定不动,而加工用的主轴箱则统一矩型轨道循环输送,依次经过加工工位,对工件进行加工。图1所示即为该自动线的外观。安装在夹具底板上的工件置于工位A上,工件在工位A上可以分度转位,以使其任一所需加工的表面面向刀具。
American Ingersoll Milling Machine Company has produced a kind of automatic line contrary to the traditional practice, which can effectively and conveniently handle some large workpieces that need complicated machining. Its first application is the machining of a large gearbox for a tractor.
