芦荟系百合科,芦荟属,多年生肉质草本花卉。其外观貌似剑麻,集观赏、美容、保健、药用、食疗于一体。我国历代《本草》中,对芦荟的药用价值均有记载,有“神奇美药植物”之称。中唐诗人刘禹锡在青年时患了湿疹之类癣症,奇痒难忍,用了多种药物治疗而未能见效,从头颈蔓延到面部,十分痛苦。后来他在一个游方郎中处得一偏方,用芦荟30克,炙甘草10克
