Since 1970, no Phased Array Antenna Conference has been held yet. In the 15 years between 1970 and 1985, there have been many advanced technologies in which phased arrays have mainly benefited from these advanced technologies. The Phased Array Conference 1985 was jointly organized by the Department of Electromagnetic Science of the Roma Air Development Center and Maite company and was held in the Maite company complex from October 15 to October 18, 1985. Of the 54 papers submitted, 18 were classified as “non-confidential” and could be distributed without restriction. Although clandestine and restricted distribution papers address the special military applications of phased array antenna systems, the 18 non-secret papers also provide good examples of the current state of technology and direction of future research efforts.
