据调查估计,美国常年有3200到3400万名情绪失常症患者,约占人口总数的15％。这些人精神抑郁,嗜酒成性,神经机能不全,伴有老年性脑组织退化和多种功能性精神变态。但整个精神保健系统(精神病院、诊疗所和私人医生)每年能接纳诊治的仅七百万人。许多人是在生活中遇到这样那样问题的中产阶级,如婚姻破裂、失恋、失业等等。
According to the survey, there are 32 to 34 million people with mood disorders in the United States perennial, accounting for about 15% of the total population. These people are depressed, alcoholic, neurological deficient, with senile brain degeneration and multiple functional psychopaths. However, the entire mental health system (mental hospitals, clinics and private doctors) receives only seven million people each year for treatment. Many are middle-class people who have such problems in their lives, such as broken-up marriage, broken-hearted love, unemployment and so on.
