如何看待传统文化与西方文化的关系以及传统文化与现代化的关系问题,无疑是中国现代化进程中两个最直接并具有根本性的问题,对这两个问题的价值评判,实质上也是对国学与“五四”新文化及现代文学关系的价值评判。国学与新文化及现代文学并非如一般所理解的是二元对立的,它们都有着民族救亡与民族振兴的强烈的政治功利理念,目的都在于陶铸人的现代魂灵,重新构建文化现代化的价值系统。
How to treat the relationship between traditional culture and western culture and the relationship between traditional culture and modernization is undoubtedly the two most direct and fundamental problems in the process of China’s modernization. The value judgments on these two issues are, in essence, “May Fourth ” the value of new culture and the relationship between modern literature and value judgments. Guoxue and New Culture and Modern Literature are not dualistic as commonly understood. They all have the idea of strong political utility of national salvation and national rejuvenation. Their purpose lies in the modern soul of Taozhu Ren and the reconstruction of the value system of cultural modernization .
