伏令夏橙(Valencia)系我国在30年代前后从美国引进的晚熟品种,采收期约在次年4~5月。Newhall 和 Grierson(1955)研究指出,柑桔果实涂蜡既能增加果实色泽,同时还能防止果皮失水皱缩,延长鲜果的寿命。但是,Davis 等(1967)认为,打蜡改变了果实的内部环境,从而导致明显的异味。Cohen 等也认为,采收的果实,尤其是打了蜡的果实,无论其所处的砧木、采收成熟度及贮藏环境如何,均有异味出现。
Valencia is the late-ripening species imported from the United States around the 1930s in China. The harvest period is about April to May in the next year. Newhall and Grierson (1955) study pointed out that citrus fruit waxing both to increase the color of the fruit, but also prevent dehydration and shrinkage of the peel, extend the life of fresh fruit. However, Davis et al. (1967) argue that waxing changes the internal environment of the fruit, resulting in significant odor. Cohen et al also believe that the harvested fruit, especially the waxed fruit, has a peculiar smell regardless of the rootstock it harvests, the maturity of the harvest, and the storage environment.
