2003年1月26日上午8点52分,编号为CI585的的台湾“中华航空公司”波音747-400型客机平稳降落上海浦东机场。两个小时后,飞机载运200多位返乡过年的台商及眷属再度起飞,经停香港返回台湾,于当日下午安抵台北桃园机场。这是53年多来,第一架台湾民航班机在祖国大陆机场降落并载客返回台湾,因此受到海峡两岸及海内外高度关注。人们的关注不仅仅因为这是1949年以来首航祖国大陆的台湾民航客机,还有它既非直航,也非对飞,与人们期待之间的距离。但是,“包机的起飞,给了人们对两岸实现直航的想象空间。”台湾航空
At 02:52, January 26, 2003, the “China Airlines” Boeing 747-400 passenger aircraft number CI585 smoothly landed at Shanghai Pudong Airport. Two hours later, the plane carried more than 200 Taiwanese businessmen and their dependents who returned to the Chinese New Year to take off again and stopped by returning to Taiwan via Hong Kong.
