中国共产党党员、民革中央监委常委、第五、六届全国政协委员、中国科学院学部委员、中国地质科学院一级研究员、著名地质学家、我国“板块构造”学说创始人之一李春昱先生因病医治无效,于1988年8月6日在北京逝世,享年84岁。李春昱先生1904年5月8日出生于河南汲县,1924的入北京大学地质系学习,1928年毕业获学士学位;1934年10月赴德国柏林大学地质研究所深造,1937年6月以“最优等”成绩取得理学博士学位。
