Carbon fiber production costs in the cost of raw silk accounted for half. Lignin is a natural, polymer rich in cellulose that resembles cellulose. Lignin-based carbon fibers are only about one-third of the commercially available carbon fiber. The performance, research progress and prospect of lignin-based carbon fiber are introduced.
