With regard to the sentence ending sentence in Chinese sentences, there are two kinds of hypotheses in the academic world, such as semantic mark punctuation and punctuation marks. Based on the hypotheses of the two single-standard punctuation, this paper proposes double-hypothesized punctuation. The hypothesis holds that Chinese sentences are sentenced into the first or mandatory punctuation (C1) and the largest projection is the punctuation (C1P); the modal particles are the second or optional punctuation C2), the maximum projection of the modal particles (C2P). C1P and C2P have a series of antagonisms and complementarities in functions such as the root sentence and the clause, the book statement and the spoken sentence, the core member and the non-core member of the sentence, and the latter are more restricted. Furthermore, Chinese sentence structure can be theoretically summed up as a formula of “[X + C1] ± C2 ”, which is universal to the sentence structure of human language.
