图书馆是一个文化教育机构,它是以整个社会文化水平的提高为目的向全社会开放的为全社会服务的一所社会大学。尤其在我们社会主义国家里,图书馆更应千方百计为读者服务。现代社会进入了信息时代,再沿用传统的服务手段是无法满足社会各方面需求的,因此必须针对读者需求不断变化的特点,寻找适合我国读者情况的服务方式。走改革创新之路,深入挖掘内部潜力,把图书馆读者服务提高到一个新的阶段。我国绝大多数图书馆实行的是闭架借阅制度,它突出的缺点是读者不能直接接触图书,读者仅凭书名有时不可能借到自己极需的文献资料。开架借阅是解决这一问题的最好办法之一,但开架在管理上要求很高,需要很多条件,就目前实际情况不可
Library is a cultural and educational institution.
