在合肥西郊风景秀美的蜀山湖畔,有着一座神秘的董铺岛。董铺岛三面环水,绿树成荫。全岛面积约2.65平方公里,岛上坐落着中国科学院在合肥的各个科学研究机构,是我国一个重要的科学研究基地,因此称之为科学岛。前不久,我们专程前往拜访了这里的中科院等离子物理研究所,考察了闻名遐迩的世界上第一台非圆截面全超导托卡马克实验装置,听专家学者讲述核聚变的发展前景,亲身感受人类科学家探索和平利用核聚变,追寻终极能源的前进步伐。
