刘甲坤,山东省沂蒙山区平邑县地方镇九间棚村党支部书记。他从20多年前就开始带领全村200多名群众,奇迹般地在海拔600多米的龙顶山上谱写了架电、修路、治水三部曲,改变了恶劣的生产、生活环境,并带领群众到县城办了6处村办企业。1999年又创办了农业科技园。2000年全村完成工农业生产总值3100多万元,实现利润240万元,人均收入由1987年的不足100元上升到3200元,铸造了闻名全国的“九间棚精神”。刘甲坤多次受到邓小平、江泽民等党和国家领导人的亲切接见,被评为全国劳模,并当选为九届全国人大代表。

Liu K’aun-kun, on many occasions being cordially received by the party and state leaders Deng Xiaoping and Jiang Zemin, was named the model worker of the whole country and was elected as the deputy to the Ninth National People’s Congress.
