One issue that people are debating after the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCBD) is why developing countries have not caught up with developed and industrialized countries as expected. Developing countries are still facing economic stagnation. “The city is scattered Rustic village ”. In the meantime, constant human activity has dramatically changed and polluted the environment. The human technology is subtle as never before. Where are the options for development? Human beings are indeed facing serious problems. Most developing countries counted the changes that had taken place, corrected the mistakes they had made and began to consider other modes of development. In developing countries like Fiji, their indigenous knowledge was ignored, abandoned and modernized during the colonial period and the early years of independence. Until recently, people realized the value and significance of indigenous knowledge. Such knowledge and wisdom have been tried and tested by the people there for thousands of years. Therefore, it is necessary for the modern people to make use of the knowledge that enables the indigenous peoples to survive in history.
