It is estimated that in 1993, the domestic sales of agrochemicals in India was US$512 million, which was converted into the original drug of 58740 tons. The total area of land cultivated in India is 182 million hectares, and the current average usage is 323 g/ha. In the past five years, the use of new pesticides has been increasing at a rate of 7% per year and it is estimated that it will continue. This is mainly due to the rainy season climate that has benefited the past few years, replacing the new varieties of highly profitable agrochemicals with BHC and DDT. In view of the good prospects for the export of agricultural products and the high profits of the food processing industry, India attaches great importance to fruits, vegetables and flowers.
