Duranta repens whole plant (20 kg) was crushed in the shade and extracted with methanol. The extract was suspended in water and extracted with chloroform. The chloroform fraction was subjected to medium pressure liquid chromatography on a silica gel column and eluted with n-hexane-chloroform (polarity enhancement) to obtain 6 fractions.
