从1995年到2005年,从天津世乒赛到上海世乒赛,从亚特兰大奥运会到雅典奥运会,《乒乓世界》在见证世界乒坛十年历史的同时,也在风云际会中走过了一段从稚嫩到成熟的历程。十年只是一瞬,却有着春华秋实的沧桑,您眼前这本《乒乓世界》,与十年前相比,一如2005上海体育馆与1995年天津体育馆的差异。1995年,我还只是《乒乓世界》的读者,在1995年改为月刊以及2003年变为全彩的过程中,我参与了杂志的改版策划,1999年至今,我为《乒乓世界》撰写了大量的综述、评论、现场报道以及专栏文章。对于回顾《乒乓世界》十年来的历程,编辑部主任夏娃认为,我非《乒乓世界》的员工,并无当局者迷的困惑;我与《乒乓世界》过从甚密,又有近水楼台的孺慕,所以却之不恭,于是欣然命笔。
