合理的产业环境政策取决于对烟气监测器以及短暂的可见与不可见排放的连续或定期采样和分析。为查明潜在污染状况、验证污染控制设备的最佳性能,进行达标考核、以及通告当地社区和相应管理层次的工业组织,均需进行排放源检测。有各种不同的仪器技术和方法可用来采集烟道和排气管内烟气流的代表性概率单位。这些技术均需专业人员参加。目前也有广泛接受的国际规范与标准,描述了采样技术与设备必须满足的要求。对于很多排放源的经常性监督来说,半定量技术也已证明具有实用价值。
Sound industrial environmental policies depend on continuous or periodic sampling and analysis of flue gas monitors and transient visible and invisible emissions. To identify potential pollution, verify the best performance of pollution control equipment, perform compliance checks, and notify local communities and industrial organizations at the appropriate levels of management of emissions testing. There are a variety of instrumental techniques and methods that can be used to collect representative probability units of flue gas flow in flue and exhaust pipes. All of these techniques require specialists. There are also widely accepted international norms and standards that describe the requirements that sampling techniques and equipment must meet. Semi-quantitative techniques have also proved to be of practical value for the regular monitoring of many sources of emissions.
