分布环境下的应用处理与资源共享将面临不同层次的异构性（包括：数据库层，操作系统层和网络层），为此我们提出了一种基于客户／服务器结构的远程协作系统，该系统是建立在数据库远程过程调用（ＤＢＲＰＣ）的机制之上的，其特点是通过其底层的抽象通信平台（Ｓｔｅｐｇａｔｅ）能实现与各种网络协议的互联。同时也能支持其上层应用系统对各种远程资源（数据资源、操作处理资源等）实现同步或异步远程访问与操作。进而支持异构分布环境下的资源共享与分布处理。

Which in turn supports resource sharing and distribution processing in a heterogeneous distribution environment.
