民俗文化是最具有地方特色的文化之一,而民俗文化词项的翻译历来也是跨文化交际翻译的难点之一,既要体现民族特色,又要让外国读者清晰明了。最近十几年兴起的生态翻译学理论可以说是最具中国色彩的翻译理论,为中国学者的汉英翻译提供了一条指导道路。本文在生态翻译学理论的指导下,运用其中的译者中心和适应/选择原则来探究最具中国民俗代表性的十二生肖的翻译,为以后的民俗文化词项翻译提供一些建议。
Folk culture is one of the most local culture, and the translation of folk cultural terms has always been one of the difficulties in intercultural communication translation. It not only reflects the national characteristics, but also makes the foreign readers clear. The theory of ecotranslation, which has emerged in the recent decade, can be said to be the most Chinese translation theory and provides a guideline for Chinese scholars to translate Chinese into English. Under the guidance of the theory of ecotranslatability, this paper uses the translator’s center and the principle of adaptation / selection to explore the translation of the most representative Chinese zodiac signs, and provides some suggestions for the future translation of folklore lexicon.
