与卡拉(Kara Lysandra Ross)相识是通过她的父亲弗莱德·罗斯。弗莱德·罗斯是美国ARC艺术复兴中心的创始人和现任主席。他于2004年创建了ARC艺术复兴中心,旨在世界范围内推动现实主义艺术的发展。为此,ARC艺术复兴中心每年举办“国际艺术沙龙大奖赛”。作为ARC艺术复兴中心中国业务的首席代表,我与罗斯父女二人交往自然很频繁。卡拉对19世纪法国和英国学院派的深入研究与对当代现实主义艺术不遗余力地推动,都使她对古往今来的艺术家有独特的研判。为此,我特邀卡拉为当代著名美术教育家、艺术家丹尼尔·格雷失斯写就此文,以期帮助我们了解当代欧美现实主义艺术发展现状。——张鸿宾
Meet Kara Lysandra Ross through her father, Fred Rose. Fred Rose is the founder and current chairman of the ARC Renaissance Center in the United States. He founded ARC Renaissance Center in 2004 to promote the development of realism in the world. To this end, ARC Renaissance Center holds “International Art Salon Grand Prix” each year. As chief representative of ARC’s Renaissance Center in China, I have frequent contacts with Rose’s father and daughter. Carla’s in-depth study of nineteenth-century French and British academics and her sparing no effort in pushing the art of contemporary realism have given her unique judgment on artists from all ages. For this reason, I invited Carla to be a famous contemporary art educator and artist Daniel Gray to write an article on this article in order to help us understand the current situation of contemporary European and American realism art. - Zhang Hongbin
