Objective To investigate the anatomical location and the similarities and differences of endolymphatic sac in experimental animals commonly used in otology and to provide anatomical basis for the study of the pathogenesis and development of endolymphatic sac disease in clinical practice. Methods Adult guinea pigs, SD rats and KM mice were selected. The bilateral temporal and occipital bones were removed and the location and adjacent relationship of the endolymphatic sac were determined. The occipital and temporal bone were separated and the vestibular aqueduct was calibrated. The anatomical results were analyzed by tissue Slice to verify. Results The endolymphatic sacs of three kinds of common rodent experimental animals were all under the posterior trunk. The bony caps were different outside the posterior semicircular canal. Guinea pig bone cover as a thin plate, the rat bone cover longer bone spine, mouse bone cover slightly longer bone spine, the cap can be seen under the vestibular aqueduct; the temporal bone tissue sections confirmed that the anatomical location is anatomical Lymphatic sac. Conclusion The anatomical locations of endolymphatic sacs in three common rodents are roughly the same, with only slight differences in anatomical landmarks or tissue morphology.
