谜语属于民间口头文学,是广大劳动人民的创作。它反映了劳动人民的思想、感情、意志和愿望,同时也表现了劳动人民无比的智慧和艺术才能。不少谜语适合儿童的特征和兴趣,对儿童有极大的教育作用。谜语根据事物的形态、习性、用途等特征,用明白、生动的语言编成顺口的韵文,让儿童去想象、猜测这件事物。它是一种文学作品,也是一种有趣的脑力游戏。它既要指出事物的特征,又要用比喻、象征等手法来迷惑对方。一方面显示,一方面隐蔽,这是谜语的特征。我们的教学就是分析“谜面”(所描述的现象),找到“谜庭”(所实指的事物),通过整个教学活动,促进儿童思维和语言的发展,培养观察、分析和综合的能力。
