The second session of the Global Historical Ocean Data Relief Project launched by the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission and the International Science Union was held at the National Oceanic Information Center from March 8 to 11, 1994. The Global Historical Ocean Data Rescue program is designed to rescue historical maritime data on endangered lands and to make it widely available for global climate change research and world ocean research and management.
