A laptop when entering is definitely the ideal companion on the go. PCWorld Labs tested six of the latest laptop laptops and chose the best peripherals for it. Laptops are moving toward the two extremes. Some of the latest models have huge screens, huge hard drives, dual-core processors, Blu-ray or HD DVD drives. In recent years, laptops are also becoming more and more popular, and major manufacturers have said that it will likely sell 1 million more laptops this year than desktops. Computer makers have definitely made the right choices to make laptops so popular. We selected six of the largest and best laptop to test whether they are worth your hard earned money. We tested three desktop replacement machines (the Apple MacBook Pro, the Dell Inspiron 1720, and the HP Pavilion HDX) as well as three other full-featured laptops (the Lenovo ThinkPad R61, the Sony VAIO VGN-FZ180E / B, and the Toshiba Satellite A205- S4639). The test software used was the WorldBench 6Beta 2 benchmark test suite - including battery performance tests - to perform performance tests on these six laptops and we conducted a rigorous hands-on evaluation of the six computers. Finally, HP notebook computers ranked first in the desktop replacement group, and Lenovo’s portable laptop is the best full-function models. In addition to testing some of the benchmarking features, we tested Mobile Broadband so you can connect to the web anytime, anywhere. In addition, we also made some forward-looking outlook to see what laptop technology is going. Finally, we’ve taken a few laptop kits to protect your computer and some attachments so your laptop can work more efficiently while on the road.
