自2006年开始,我们通过天然授粉实生选种的方法,从包括切花菊、地被菊、盆景菊、悬崖菊及国庆大菊等在内的各种菊花中,筛选出若干在株型、花型和花色上均表现较好的地被小菊新品种。这些新品种花期集中在9～10月,花量大且繁密,观赏性强,株型圆整,自然成型,管理简便,不仅地栽表现良好,很多品种还很适宜盆栽。在北京可以露地越冬,基本无需防寒措施。喜欢疏松透气性好的土壤,黏重板结的土壤不适宜栽植,雨季尤其要注意排涝,注意松土,耐干旱,没有重大病虫害,不过地栽时要警惕地下害虫。
