日本著名发展经济学家渡边利夫在其“从依附达到自立”一文中指出,“依附的发展是当今发展中国家取得经济发展的唯一途径。依附也是发展中国家取得自立发展的必要代价。南朝鲜就是发展中国家从依附达到自立的典型模式,也是发展中国家最值得仿效的榜样。亚洲‘四小’都是按‘从依附达到自立’的模式取得经济高速增长的几个范例。”

In his article entitled “Independence from Independence,” Japan’s leading development economist Watanabe Lev pointed out: “Dependent development is the only way for developing countries to achieve economic development. Dependence is also a necessary cost for developing countries to achieve self-reliance.” North Korea is a typical model for developing countries to gain independence from dependence and is the most worthy example for developing countries to follow. “Four smalls” in Asia are all examples of achieving rapid economic growth based on the model of “dependence from dependence and self-reliance.”
