广东省雷州半岛南部的雷州一带,至今遗存着一批明清时期古戏台,其田野现状大致有三:废弃的戏台;仍在发挥仪式作用和展演功能的准“文物”戏台;历代几经重修,仍在发挥仪式作用和展演功能的文物戏台。古戏台的兴建,一为雷州民间经济交流需求;二为雷州民间神灵信仰诉求需要;三为雷州民间演剧活动的促进。古戏台及其遗存实物,既反映了明清时期雷州演剧发展概貌,又包含着丰富的文化价值。
There are still a number of ancient stage sets in the Ming and Qing Dynasties so far.
