Studies have shown that low concentrations (5 ~ 10mg / L) theophylline has anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects 〔1〕. Eosinophils and T lymphocytes are the major inflammatory cells in the pathogenesis of asthma. We measured the changes of serum eosinophil cationic protein (ECP) and soluble interleukin 2 receptor (SIL2R) concentrations before and after oral administration of low-dose theophylline in asthmatic patients.
