Innovation is the soul of knowledge-based economy and the soul of sci-tech periodicals. From the aspects of developing divergent thinking, making good use of reverse thinking and building overall thinking, the author discusses in detail the application of creative thinking in the entire editing activities such as topic selection, group draft, reviewing, editing and processing, proofreading and setting of columns. Creative thinking is an important means by which editors find, put forward and solve problems, which helps editors to overcome the limitation of inherent cognition. It plays an important role in promoting the development of sci-tech periodicals and improving their quality. Creative thinking is an inexhaustible source of high-quality thinking.
