In the past ten years or so, the organic trace elements analysis of the Soviet Union conducted extensive systematic research and achieved outstanding achievements under the leadership of Kozsu of the Soviet Academy of Sciences. They have created many new rapid analytical methods, and almost every new method has laid the cornerstone of the possibility of measuring several elements simultaneously from one specimen. The rationale behind these methods is quite different from the principle of the “classic” method, which has been widely adopted for decades. The method is simple and accurate, and has a very wide range of applications. In addition to the common use of organic elemental analysis laboratories in the Soviet Union, more and more countries are adopting it.
