The light absorption and fluorescence spectra of Pr ~ (3 +), Tb ~ (2 +), H_o ~ (2+) and Tm ~ (3+) in the C_2 lattice of yttrium (Y_2O_3) single crystal were reported. Based on our data and the previously reported results of Eu ~ (3+) and Tm ~ (3 +) +, we systematically describe the Lm series except Pm All non-Kramers away from ~ (3+)
