It is a known fact that people remember faces of the same race more than those of other races. Now scientists have discovered the brain changes behind this phenomenon. Dr. Jennifer L. Ebdhad at Stanford University and her colleagues brought 19 men - nine blacks and ten whites - to view face pictures from both races while using a magnetic resonance imager ( MRI) to monitor their brain activity.
