Mao Dun’s “Scenery Talk” is a superb essay on ideology and art. The essay warmly praised the fighting life of civilians and civilians in Yan’an Anti-Japanese Democratic Base. In order to be published in the KMT, the author uses subtle and implicit language to express rich connotations.
