Ritonavir is a potent inhibitor of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) protease. Clinically, small doses of ritonavir are often used in combination with other HIV protease inhibitors to increase their plasma concentration and improve their efficacy. The FDA recently reminded the public that the combination regimen and hepatitis C virus (HCV) protease inhibitors Bosai P
