This paper presents the stress analysis for a locomotive frame by means of photo-Elastic experiment. How to make some simplification of the loads acting on the frame, how to design some device for adding the loads, and how to make the model, all these are also discussed. The experience acquired in the course of making this experiment is recorded to for reference. Besides giving a part of the experimental results. is set down the analysis of the results together with some opinion for improving the design.
