“勉铃”乃明代一种性具,《金瓶梅》第16、27、38、83回皆提及此物,它较之于银托子、相思套、硫磺圈、悬玉环、封脐膏而言,使用更为广泛。但关于它的具体形制,囿于资料,前人虽有所论证,惜皆未得其详。近年来,笔者在阅读明代小说、笔记的过程中,积累了不少相关史料,今撰此短文,权为小说读者作一注脚。《金瓶梅》第16回《西门庆谋财娶妇应伯爵喜庆追欢》写西门庆从李瓶儿处幽会回家,来到潘金莲屋里:
