Recently, the State Council issued the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan for Strategic Emerging Industries Development”, which explicitly proposed to accelerate the pace of innovation in bio-industries and foster a new dynamic in bio-economics. By 2020, the scale of bio-industries will reach 8-10 trillion yuan. A group of new biotechnology companies and bio-economic clusters with strong international competitiveness will accelerate the establishment of bio-economy as an important new economic form following the information economy. This will nurture and develop the biological industry in China.
