墨西哥裔美国作家桑德拉·希斯内罗斯的短篇小说《女喊溪的故事》围绕可莉菲拉斯在墨西哥的少女时代和在德克萨斯州塞甘镇的婚姻生活以及她不甘婚后寂寞、被背叛、殴打和禁闭的生活而出逃的故事,探索女性的社会地位和两性关系问题。整个故事中都可以看到墨西哥的传统,这些传统将女性束缚在无聊的生活和不幸的婚姻当中,同时也给女儿逃离充满暴力的不幸婚姻回到故乡的勇气和精神力量。
Mexican American writer Sandra Hathoross’s short story The Story of a Woman Calls Creek brooks around the days of Corvilla’s teenage days in Mexico and her marriage in Setan, Texas, as well as her unwillingness to marry After loneliness, being betrayed, beaten and confined life to explore the social status of women and the relationship between the sexes. Mexico’s traditions can be seen throughout the story, which bind women in silly and unhappy marriages, while also giving their daughters the courage and spiritual strength to return to their homeland from unfortunate marriages of violence.
