铜鼓,即一种以铜为主要金属元素铸造成的、形状类似于釜的金属鼓。铜鼓是我国西南少数民族和东南亚地区古代象征地位、权力与财富的一种重器,上溯春秋,下至明清,它的铸造和使用的历史时期很长,流传的地区很广使用的民族很多。铜鼓主要分布在我国的云南、贵州、广西和广东等南方省份。东南亚国家中,越南、老挝、缅甸等国发现的铜鼓较多。
