Ornithine decarboxylase (ODC, EC 4.1.1.17) is a rate-limiting enzyme that catalyzes the biosynthesis of polyamines. ODC activity and polyamine content are significantly increased in proliferating tissues and tumor cells. Control of ODC expression, regulation of polyamine biosynthesis is to maintain the normal cell proliferation and differentiation balance, prevent cancer and malignant tumor
